Back

2006.

The project was nominated for the "Reconstruction" award in 2006. The reconstructed building is an excellent example of the Riga’s classic wooden architecture. The reconstructed facade and overall appearance is a result of a skilful work that brings to life all fine details.

The wooden building is a part of the inner quarter at Tallinas street 49 and among other buildings here, it is located within the territory of the UNESCO protected historical centre of Riga. The wooden building that was built in 1886 is facing the street, but on its back side there stands another building made from stone. See more…

The first floor of the wooden building was transformed into a modern notarial office, but the upper floors were rebuilt for the needs of the owners’ family by combining several small apartments and the attic reconstruction.
