Within the Tallinas street 49 inner quarter project, the architectural office LOFT also developed the design for its own office premises.
The reconstruction provided the opportunity to extend the building’s life by giving it a new architectural quality. This created a balance between aesthetics and functionality. The building’s historic significance was combined with the new functional role of the premises without losing the attractive cosiness together with the individuality of bright spaces.
The main task was the preservation of the old buildings, therefore, the reconstruction goal became to combine historicity with modern living spaces and office requirements. We managed to create a new, well-equipped environment by bringing the wooden architecture closer to the brick building without losing the sense of authenticity. In the rebuilt offices, it was important to maintain the structure, the character and the mood of the location to achieve complete synthesis of the past and the present.
